| | | Ground Transportation| |  |
Ride-sharing is a great way to save money to and from the conference hotel (and get to know other colleagues). As we get closer to the conference, you can use Whova to post rides or find others offering rides.

| | | Conference Attire| |  |
Conference attire during the day is generally business casual, while evening events are “beach casual.” Mean October temperatures in St. Pete Beach range from a low of 72° to a high of 84° F, so warm-weather clothing is advised.

| | | PDI Laptops and Pre-Registrations| |  |
Be sure to pack a laptop (and charger!) for use in CARMA@SMA and PDI methodology sessions. Pre-registration is also recommended for several sessions, including:

This year marks our inaugural Memorial Beach Run in honor of SMA colleagues who have passed. Please contact Program Chair Tim Munyon (tmunyon@utk.edu) if you would like to have a colleague honored. Also bring your running (or walking) shoes for our 5K run/walk, which is free for all attendees and scheduled from 7:00 – 8:00 AM on Friday of the conference. Meet at the South Beach Lawn.

We’ve planned several fun receptions and evening activities for attendees. Although we are offering on-site childcare for the first time, please note that receptions and conference activities are open only to registered adult attendees with a name badge.

This year we are supporting “Give Kids the World,” a Florida organization that helps families of critically ill children experience vacations together. SMA will match up to $2,500 toward this organization, and donations can be made here: https://smgmt.org/donations/

We want our conference experience to be impactful, fun, and safe for all attendees. Although our attire may be “dressed down” for the beach, it’s important to maintain a professional and respectful disposition toward one another. We also advise attendees to travel in groups when leaving the hotel property. Security inquiries can be directed to the TradeWinds 24/7 at 727-239-9645, while emergencies should be directed to 911.
