Attend a Virtual Brainstorming Session
Deadline: March 21st, 2025
The “Pub” Crawl process starts by attending one virtual information sessions (approximately 90 minutes in length). The virtual brainstorming sessions are offered on two dates; it is mandatory for a minimum of one member of each author team to attend at least one session. The primary purpose of the virtual brainstorming sessions is to get feedback on an initial idea and/or to brainstorm research questions with the authors of the 12 JOMSR invited editorials. Therefore, we encourage you to attend the session where at least one author of the invited editorial piece that identifies the idea/topic you want to investigate will be present.
Virtual Brainstorming Session Dates (Choose at least 1):
- March 25, 2025 (Tuesday) at 9:30 am EST
- Presenting Invited Editorial Authors include: David Allen, Nancy Chen, David Kryscynski, Julie Hancock, Kate Zipay, Kristen Shockley, Mike Crant, Sebastian Reiche, Sabine Sonnentag, Rudy Durand, Jason Marshall, Xavier Martin, Maria Kraimer

- Presenting Invited Editorial Authors include: David Allen, Nancy Chen, Julie Hancock, Jose Beltran, Kate Zipay, Mike Crant, Tammy Allen, Oliver Schilke, Xavier Martin, Maria Kraimer
Participants must register for at least one of these sessions in order to progress in this process but are welcome to register and attend both sessions if their schedules permit. The deadline to register for either of the virtual sessions is 11:59 PM ET on March 21st, 2025.
After registering for a virtual information session, participants will receive an email with access details for their respective session. While all members of the research team (e.g., primary author and co-authors) are encouraged to attend the virtual information session, however, this is not a requirement.
Participants should be familiar with the mission and scope of JOMSR prior to attending a virtual brainstorming session (https://journals.sagepub.com/home/MSR). Participants will also find it particularly helpful to familiarize themselves with the JOMSR introductory editorial (Kraimer, Martin, Schulze, & Seibert, 2023, issue 1) and the two invited editorials on replication studies (Kohler & Cortina, 2023, issue 2; Obenauer, 2024, issue 1) prior to participation in the virtual session. The above articles and the “Pub Crawl” invited editorials can be accessed at the journal homepage.
If you have any questions or haven’t received the email containing access details for your upcoming virtual session three days beforehand, please reach out to SMA Board Member, Julie Hancock (julie.hancock(at)unt.edu).
