CARMA and SMA
SMA is an affiliate of the Consortium for the Advancement of Research Methods and Analysis (CARMA). CARMA was started by Larry Williams and is an interdisciplinary consortium devoted to helping faculty, graduate students and professionals learn of current developments in various areas of research methods and statistics relevant to management and the organizational sciences. Because SMA is a CARMA affiliate, SMA members have access to a selection of CARMA’s offerings.
Summary of Benefits to SMA members
- Access to Module 1 of the Research Methods Education Program (RMEP) which contains 24 recorded lectures covering typical content in an introductory PhD class.
- Access to the live webcast lectures (10 new lectures each year).
- Access to the Topic Interest Groups (TIG) which meet multiple times per year on zoom. These sessions may focus on a specialized topics (e.g., longitudinal analyses, text analysis), or on specific ORM papers. Methodologists interact with attendees and answer questions.
- Discount (25%) on Short Courses (approximately 20 hours of instruction). Nearly 40 Short Courses will be offered online in 2021.
Cost of a Full Carma Memberships
Fees are $850 for faculty and $650 for students who are NOT from member schools.
Fees are $710 for faculty/staff and $560 for students from recognized professional associations (including SMA) who are NOT from member schools.
Registration includes access to CARMA Video Library until August 31, 2022.
