Call for SMA Faculty Consortium Coordinator
The SMA Board is soliciting nominations for the appointed position of Faculty Consortium Coordinator.
The Faculty Consortium Coordinator position is a two-year commitment and includes responsibilities such as soliciting and accepting applicants, organizing the consortium, developing the agenda, securing speakers, conducting the consortium, obtaining feedback from the participants, and relaying this feedback to the SMA Board.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity goals and strategic initiatives of SMA. In addition, the nominating committee – comprised of outgoing consortia coordinators and the program chair-elect – will apply the following criteria in recommending nominees for appointment by the Board:
- Contributions to the field of management, including respect and reputation among colleagues in the field.
- Involvement in past SMA activities and service, including reviewing papers, chairing sessions, presenting or discussing papers, being a track chair, and serving in leadership roles.
- Reputation for conscientiousness and dependability.
Self- or other-nominations are acceptable. However, if nominating a colleague, you must obtain the nominee’s agreement to be nominated.
