To be considered for grant funds, US-based participants must present their proposal in person at SMA 2025 (October 22-25, 2025; Greenville, South Carolina). US-based participants can apply for a registration waiver for the SMA 2025 conference. 100% of the conference registration fee will be waived for qualifying participants.

Non US-based participants are welcome to present at SMA 2025, however, they will be able to present their proposals virtually to the SMA Fellows approximately two weeks prior to the conference. Therefore, non US-based participants do not need to apply for a conference fee waiver nor register for SMA 2025. If you are not attending SMA 2025, please do not apply for a fee waiver.

The deadline to register for a conference fee waiver is 11:59 PM ET on September 1, 2025. Please note that each member of the authorship team who wishes to attend the SMA conference must request their own discount code; the codes are one-time use (unique) codes and cannot be shared.
